TINY HOME IN A PARKING SPACE
This project aims to create a sense of place within the limitations of a small space - a tiny home. The programs had to fit within a parking spot (9’x18’) under the Barley’s bridge in downtown Knoxville. International Building Code and materials specifications were required in application. Revit and Enscape were highly utilized in this design of a home for those within deaf culture, where they truly live no different than the rest but instead gain a deeper sense of identity and way of life. Adaptations (acoustical, electric, or physical) are not disadvantages; rather, they enhance the space and sense of belonging.
