landscape at thorncrown chapel

As part of our landscape architecture course, we were tasked to build a plant community assigned to any chosen site, climate, and conditions. Given this freedom, I developed my ecological system around Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas as a theoretical proponent for beauty. The arrangement and design include 18+ species of plants that each thrive together differently and optimally according to certain levels of sunlight, shade, or moisture content. The experience was rich and enlightening for considering details on the scale of grown, living things that also inhabit our built environments.
